Suboxone Medication Management

Gemini Health incorporates the use of Suboxone (or Zubsolv) to help patients who suffer from opioid dependency. A medication-assisted therapy (MAT), Suboxone works as a pure opioid antagonist. Suboxone is a mix of buprenorphine and naloxone.

Chemically released in the body, the medication plants itself against the same receptors your opioids would. Once it binds to the same receptors in the brain, it prevents the cravings for the drugs as a blunt intoxication.

Our Program

The opioid crisis is referenced quite frequently. We are flooded with the statistics and potential dangers of any opioid use. Almost everyone has been affected to some extent by opioid dependence, whether it is a personal experience or someone they know. And where do we draw the line?

It can happen slowly, and then all at once. A person can be prescribed opioids after a minor surgery, or even after an injury. The use of the medication becomes a hindrance, and you find the “pain” never really goes away. Welcome to the throes of addiction. No matter how “functioning” you are, you can still be an addict. Any use of opioids can trigger an addiction, which can occur in any socio-economic or ethnic group. If you want to end your battle with addiction, Gemini Health can help. Our Board-Certified physicians assist individual patients with the physical and emotional process of withdrawing from their opioid dependency.

Essentially, Suboxone addresses the physical aspect of withdrawal, while gradually weaning the patient away from the original opioid dependency. Gradually, and under the guidance of Gemini Health professionals, the dosage of Suboxone can be lowered, until the dependency on opioids is lifted. A patient can transition back to normal life, without the stigma or tangible proof of opioid addiction.

Gemini Health strives to produce true relief, and the consistency of a stable recovery. Recovery from an opiate is exhausting. We can help. Patients deserve more than just simple functioning in their lives. They deserve to enjoy a quality life, instead of trying to make it day by day. By providing these collaborative services in a single location, we provide ease of access for medical care to our community. Suboxone can begin their path to eliminating their addiction. Call Gemini Health at (301) 363-1063 so we can begin your journey.
